FFC Galaxy in the Under Armour Invitational
On a rainy Sunday morning I accepted the offer to go with the coach of the FFC Galaxy to their tournament games in Watkinsville. We ran through some really bad weather on the way up there. When we got there, they had an hour delay for all games. They also cut halves to 20 minutes.
Galaxy's first game was a semifinal against Blue Springs Liberty Flames. They scored in the first half and played tough defense in the second half to win the game 1-0.
After lunch at "Dickies" they played the final against Lady Galaxy 00. They lost to this team 3-2 the previous day in round robin play. Luck was no better in the final. The "wrong" Galaxy won again, this time by a score of 2-0.
It was the end of the season for the team and the last game for one of the players who is moving out of state in the next few days.
